Training Session with Jen Lewis

Our first time of us training together with someone since we finished at Willerby's in 2009 :o

Bella was very excited and giddy and wouldn't shut up I think she likes agility a little bit lol

We had a really good time worked on some trickier handling which I sort of managed Bella threw herself litterally into it all doing everything I asked even if it wasn't quite right lol Lots of things for me to work on, getting her wing wraps tighter to save us a few seconds and some contact training which we knew isn't consistant enough at the min, but have some good tips on how to start re training shes so keen Im sure we'll be ther in no time. We had a few issues with the wevaes not being pegged as shes so impatient to get through them so we'll have to set our up a bit wobbly just in case she comes across them in a show. We did manage a super running A-Frame really driving hitting the contacts at super speed such a shame we where trying to do 2o2o hahahaFingers crossed when we go back in Feb Bella wont be quite so frustrated with me and will be a bit quieter!!!!

Then went for a lovely walk where Bella was off lead with 12!!!!!! new collies. She didn't grumble once in fact I think she really enjoyed herself :D Wooooohooooo never imagined that would happen.

Dog Vegas Sat 22nd Jan

Our first show of the year was really looking forward to it, went with no expectations as we haven't done any training since Nov as can't get in our field :( Just going to make Bella smile. Had to wait quite a while for our first run of the day, Jumping was set for grade 1, 2 and 3 and was quite twisty but good course for us as really worked us well. After queuing for an age we flew round, 5f for a pole down as I turned a bit too quick but really pleased as we worked as a team. Got back in the queue for 2nd run, went much quicker and I knew what I had to do just hang that corner. She ran like a dream and went clear I was so pleased she really worked hard and deserved to go clear :D I'm always wishing we could go clear more often but to be honest it would maybe spoil it as those time we do I will always remember. Next was a very straight up and down agility course we never do well as either we miss contacts or shes too speedy and I can't keep up. First run 5f on A-Frame so I pushed her hard full speed down the final line and she flew and kept all the poles up big bonus. Second run I hung back for the contact which she got but then I was too far behind for the straight line so she looked back for me and pulled off to a jump so we where e'd lol Ah well we know what courses we like ;) Last run was helter skelter we got 5R for hesitation on a jump as I wasn't clear enough (I was so tired I forgot how long the days are lol) but the rest of the run was ace we even had a tunnel pull off which for Bella is sometimes far too tempting to listen. Very pleased with the day, so pleased she went clear but best of all was only 1 pole down (and that was due to me) so maybe the grid work is paying off we shall see. Next week training session at Weatherby on Sat and NAWS on Sun.
