Scunthorpe O&ATC

We where still in a bit of shock after last weekend so now we have a few shows we can relax and have decided to try out a few things I wouldn't normally do in the ring to prove to myself we can do it. First outdoor show of the season and Bella exploded over the first jumping course it was easier to count the poles up them on the floor!!!!! I also got in the wrong place so just a lets forget that one round hahaha We then had a 1-4 jumping where she rang much better but I tried to rear and front cross at a corner which was too much so she pulled out and we got E'd but she flew even around the flick flack shes in beautiful form atm. Next was agility a couple of traps and a funny angle over the long jump she flew just knocking a pole as I called her off the tunnel and she told me she heard me lol Didn't expect to come anywhere as some speedy dogs, but we got 2nd as only 1 clear round!!!!!! Last run of the day was agility very tight loads of traps and work just what we love unfortunately couldn't get a wait on the start and she stepped onto the A frame so we where E'd but she got her contacts even the down walk going into a tunnel which is usually so temping. Another good day looking forward to camping next weekend at Lincoln.

Hare N Hounds 3rd April

I really wasn't looking forward to today as much as I should have been as woke up with a stiff neck and couldn't turn properly, having a 2hr drive at half 5 didn't make me feel much better but then it all changed. First run of the day was agility, lovely course no weaves either we don't have the best track record of first runs so I just went in hoping to get Bellas contacts and not rush her down the straight line thus knocking a pole. Well she ran like a dream I really struggled to stay calm right to that last pole and wooo we have finally done it a KC agility clear amazing :D I did a little jump for joy on the finish its been a lone time waiting, Jules came and told it was a lovely run too. We had strict instructions off Sal not to look and spoil it but with some many lovely friends there it couldn't be helped as they where all so excited for us yes it was 1st place taking us into grade 2!!!!!! and doing it in style with a 7 sec margin. I didn't care how we did the rest of the day as I just couldn't seem to stop grinning lol We had an E in agility but she ran so well getting her contacts and zooming through the weaves with a real wiggle on and got 8th in jumping it 10F!!!!!!! as she knocked a pole and popped her weaves twice so glad I made her do them instead of letting her finish and get E'd. Was a fab day worth the early start and neck ache any day :D

Dog Vegas 19th March

I apologised to Bella before we started the day as felt rough with cold and headache so really expected to mess things up as brain was not working but wanted to go to support the rest of the club as lots of members competing today. We started off with 3 runs on the pairs (big mistake as it killed me lol) first run for Bella was fab except I pushed her too hard down the finish and she knocked a pole the next two we got e'd as I couldn't get to the corner for the turn so she ducked in. First jumping run we went clear very pleased as we are trying to get more first runs to count in a speedy 23.5 sec but wasn't enough to beat those collies 2nd run was tighter turn at the start but got 5f for knocking a pole on the home straight but time was faster at 21.3. Next was agility first run knocked a pole on the turn but got both contacts :D second run 10f missed DW contact so she was gobbing off at me and wasn't listening when I told her for long jump so she landed in the the middle of it, luckily she was fine and flew round the rest of the course (telling me off all the way lol). Finished off the day with helter skelter, interesting course tried a different way of handling the tunnel from the wrong side (the training with Jen came in handy) which worked as was worried Bella would knock the pole as she came out the tunnel if I couldn't front cross in time. So finished the day with two clears :D

Hare N Hounds 6th March

Early start to the day set off at 5.45 as the show starts at 8am, first run was graded 1-2 agility for some reason a lot of dogs seemed to be having dizzy moments and Bella was the same she duck around the first jump hitting the back of my legs so I ended up face first in the sand how embarrassing lol Took her back to try again but we struggled with right handed weaves of a right angled jump need to practise at training me thinks, so great start to the day with a big fat E lol Second run was 1-2 graded agility after walking it I knew it was one of our sort of courses quite tight but good to keep the brain working, she flew round in 36.71 sec with 5R at the weaves as I just stepped a fraction too close so she went to the wrong side it was a beautiful run well deserved 3rd place only 2 clears in grade 1 was gutted as both had times way over 50 seconds hey ho at least it wasn't missed contacts or poles lol Then we had to wait a few hours for our next class graded 1-3 Jumping I tried to send Bella to the tunnel but she wasn't having any of it and gave me a lashing we had the evil right handed weaves which we got right on the 5th attempt think we had 20F but Im surprised it wasn't an E as really wasn't a great run. The day finished with a 1-7 ABC Jumping where I was very proud of her going clear we ended up 16th I think in a very respectable 27.5 sec 4 sec behind the lead dog clever girl Bella :D Verrrrrrrry long day didn't get home until 8pm but really enjoyed the show fingers crossed I got the entry sent off in time for the April one :D
