NAWS 27th Feb

Wasn't really looking forward to going today as last time Bella found it quite stressful and I had a migraine so wasn't the best of situations. We started off with agility first run e'd but we got both contacts woo and weaves so was very pleased, second run went by in a blur lol she was flying and I had to really run to keep up was really pleased to go clear as Agility for us is a real battle on those contacts. Was chuffed to bits to find out she'd come 1st in 27.50 sec what a little star :D Next was jumping, we had two poles down and a couple of refusals I think, I think someone has changed the batteries in my doggie as I had no time to do the front crosses where I would normally it was a bit mental, second run we had 1 pole as I waited to cross behind and put her off hey ho she had a blast which was the main. I really enjoyed today not just our runs but we caught up with so many people we haven't seen for ages and chatted to so people new to agility its days like today that are what its all about socially :D

Training Session with Jen Lewis

Note to self always double check the weather forecast of the place you are going too!!!!
We set off in the rain and should have taken this as a sign lol All was well until we got to the end of the M62 when it started to snow!!!! How dare it does it think its winter or something!!! We finally reaching Sicklinghall but there was no one there lol I rang Jen who was waiting at the top of the lane to stop us driving down (I had seen her van but assumed it was parked there due to how much snow was on it lol) we went for a nice walk with Bella being a good girl with Jen's collies :) Then we had an hours training with Jen and one of her dogs which was very kind :) We have some more handling to work on especially right hand weaves coming in from a big circle, but was very pleased that our out we have worked on since Jan is ok have only done it at training a couple of times but Bella has picked it up well. We also did some contact work proofing my release command just need to stop looking at her and yapping down her ear lol Great that we have extra things to work on :) Fingers crossed we can get to the next session in March.

Agility Addicts & Gundog Show

I was really looking forward to the weekend (except for the 4.00am start lol) luckily for me Sal drove us down which help me stay lots calmer I think.
Saturday morning began with starters jumping Bell was a tiny bit excited lol the first run we knocked a pole as I turn a tad too quick and she then got a refusal as saw a lady who she thought was Sal lol but the course felt good with some nice working sections it suited how we run so second time I slowed and we went clear in a storming 24.078 getting us 3rd place and a trophy bless :D Next we had starters agility a bit to straight up and down for us first run missed a contact (not sure which) second run I made her wait but she knocked a pole after coming off each in eagerness to get on lol We where just outside the placings in 6th with 5f which is still really good :) Last run of the day was Helter Skelter combined Starter, Novice and Senior we went clear in 21st place out of 93 the second highest placed starter dog what a speedy girl :D
Sunday morning began with 1-2 combined agility walking the course it felt good nice bit of work involved and perfected places for me to front cross. First run we flew and where clear in 31.29 gaining us a 5th place I was so pleased as getting agility clears is our biggest challenge so to do it on the first run and first run of the day was a massive bonus. Second run we tried to do the same but missed a contact (think I was pushing her a bit hard) but she was absolutely flying barking all the way having such a great time hihihi Next we had jumping another good course with some fiddly bits just how we like them first run I tried a front cross but there just wasn't enough time so she knocked a pole and I rushed the end so we got a refusal as she pulled through the gap. Second run was going great we got right to the end and I knew we where going to do it got excited a bit too early but Bell hadn't finished so I distracted her and she knocked the last pole I was gutted for her to say the least lol But she didn't care bless her what she has to put up with lol We decided not to stay for the steeplechase as the weather was horrid and with a three hour drive home for Sal thought it was best to head back.
We had a really great weekend and we seem fingers crossed to becoming more and more consistent lets home it keeps getting going :D

NAWS 30th Jan

We didn't have the best of days as I had a bad migraine so we did two rubbish runs because I wasn't giving Bella the right commands then we came home to sleeep, eventually we might actually get to compete properly at NAWS lol
